Bringing together 45 artists and scientists from 14 countries, The Story of Light Festival creates a magical learning playground. The festival has been conceptualised under the aegis of The International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies, 2015 (IYL 2015), a project of the United Nations that aims to raise awareness about the breakthroughs in light science, its applications and its importance to humankind.
In Cristina Olivotto’s first workshop, Stop Time with a Stroboscobe, at the Goa Science Center, participants will build a stroboscope and take pictures of moving objects with simple off-the shelf components paired with a digital camera. In the second workshop, Photosensitive Art, participants will learn about the scale of objects by creating a story with photosensitive paper.
Cristina Olivotto graduated in Physics and after earning a PhD in the History of Physics, she started to work in the field of science communication and formal and informal science education.
