Dante Beyond Borders is an Italian- Indian experimental theatre and dance performance, co-produced in partnership with Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Mumbai, born from the collaboration between the Italian theatre company Instabili Vaganti and the Indian association Ahum Trust, inspired by the Divine Comedy of the great ancient Italian Poet Dante Alighieri and is presented by Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.

 Dante Beyond Borders combines experimental theatre, Bharatanatyam dance, electronic music and video art, it explores universal human themes through a cross-cultural lens. Directed by Anna Dora Dorno, the performance features Nicola Pianzola and Anuradha Venkataraman, with music by Riccardo Nanni. It merges ancient Italian texts with Bharatanatyam gestures highlighting connections between Dante’s philosophy and Indian culture.

Anna Dora Dorno, born in 1976 in Italy, founded Instabili Vaganti in 2004. She has directed and performed in acclaimed productions, including Avan Lulu, The Ritual, Ausencia – Alone in the Crowd, and MADE IN ILVA. Dorno has directed web performance series with artists from various countries and teaches workshops at universities and academies worldwide.

Nicola Pianzola, born in 1977 in Italy, is a renowned performer and playwright. He studied physical theatre at the University of Bologna and the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw. Pianzola has received numerous awards for his solo show MADE IN ILVA and conducts workshops at various universities worldwide.

Anuradha Venkataraman is a Bharatanatyam dancer with over 25 years of experience. She trained under Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan and collaborates with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Anuradha has performed in Poland, Germany, Denmark, and Luxembourg, and was nominated for the Prakriti Excellence in Contemporary Dance Awards.
