Echoes of Italy: The Italian Essence in Repertoires Inspired by Landscape and Emigration

sitoweb

From the meeting of two young and accomplished talents of Italy’s classical music scene, Tommaso Benciolini on flute and Lorenzo Bernardi on guitar, comes a performance rich in emotions and atmospheres, testifying to the visceral connection of younger generations to their cultural roots.

The concert narrates Italian artistic identity through soundscapes shaped by regional landscapes, historical migrations, and cultural encounters. Echoes of Italy explores how tradition and transformation continue to define Italy’s musical expression, highlighting how classical forms engage with popular idioms and cross-cultural influences, offering an intimate yet far-reaching portrait of Italian creativity.

Tommaso Benciolini

Winner of the 2017 New York Respighi Prize, Italian flutist Tommaso Benciolini made his debut on stage as a soloist at Canergie Hall, New York in 2019. His career launched on a global scale, performing in many prestigious stages in Tokyo, Berlin, Vienna and Seoul to name a few. His contemporary musical vision has been unanimously acclaimed by journalists, critics and radio stations, especially after founding a chamber orchestra, l’Appassionata, with whom he played a renowned monograph dedicated to Vivaldi, later released in 2021 under SONY Classical Label.

Lorenzo Bernardi

An esteemed Italian guitarist, Lorenzo Bernardi graduated in the Conservatory of Trento and Sassari before pursuing his passion and refining his skills in the Conservatory of Seville. He has performed as a soloist, or in an ensemble with orchestras in prestigious venues and halls across the globe while also pursuing his interest in sharing his knowledge and expertise through masterclasses in esteemed institutions and universities. Lorenzo is currently working in a collaboration with Italian violinist Saverio Gabrielli for a joint album “Two Italians”, set to be soon released in Vienna.
