“LEONARDO DA VINCI – Spirituals Anatomy” is a choreographic creation by Raphael Bianco for Compagnia EgriBiancoDanza, conceived within the “ERGO SUM” project, dedicated to the exploration of identity, the body, and consciousness. The work pays tribute to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci on the 500th anniversary of his death, drawing inspiration from his renowned anatomical studies and his interdisciplinary vision of knowledge.
Through a choreographic language of strong expressive value, the performance explores the human body as a place of memory, perception, and transformation. The dancers become protagonists of a symbolic process of “dissection,” in which movement and stillness reveal tensions between interior and exterior, strength and fragility, and the visible and the hidden. Accompanied by a sound score integrating natural sounds and contemporary music, the work unfolds as a symbolic stage composition without a linear narrative.
Founded in Turin in 1999, Compagnia EgriBiancoDanza is recognized for its artistic research focused on social and spiritual values, with a repertoire that combines tradition and innovation. “LEONARDO DA VINCI – Spiritual Anatomies” represents a significant contribution to the dialogue between contemporary dance, art, and humanistic thought.
Produced by Fondazione Egri CRID and Compagnia EgriBiancoDanza, in partnership with Fondazione CROSS, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, Regione Piemonte and Fondazione CRT, and in collaboration with Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Mumbai and the Consulate General of Italy in Bengaluru. The performance will be presented at the 12th edition of the Attakkalari India Biennial.
