The Italian Cultural Institute of Mumbai, in collaboration with the Film Heritage Foundation, the Institut Français in India, and the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai, presented Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Conformist (1970) on 16th July as part of Reel Europa, a quarterly showcase dedicated to the finest restored classics of Italian, French and German cinema.

The screening welcomed a full house, confirming Mumbai audiences’ strong interest in Italian auteur cinema. Adapted from Alberto Moravia’s novel, the film was particularly appreciated for Vittorio Storaro’s extraordinary cinematography and its profound exploration of conformity, identity and fascism.

Our sincere thanks to the Film Heritage Foundation for its valuable collaboration and continued commitment to preserving and promoting India’s cinematic heritage.
