Fare Cinema – Onscreen Couture: Costuming for the Camera

On the occasion of the first edition of “Fare Cinema”-the International Week of Italian Cinema, Italian Embassy Cultural Centre in collaboartion with Avid Learning and Vogue India present Onscreen Couture: Costuming for the Camera with the ambassador for Fare Cinema in India- an award winning Italian Costume Designer Daniela Ciancio and Bollywood Couturier Neeta Lulla in conversation with Vogue India Editor Priya Tanna.
Join these trailblazers from the industry as they discuss the intricacies of designing for the screen from Bollywood to Hollywood to regional Italian Cinema. Form cross-cultural comparisons between American, Italian, and Indian cinema, discuss processes and production of costume design, and its role as a cinematic device and its larger part in breaking and shaping cultural ideologies.This panel will elucidate not just on the workings of film production and culture but also on attendant socio-cultural structures, gender studies, body politics and fashion.
