On 19 October 2026, students attending Italian language courses organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Mumbai at Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBITI) in Kurla took part in a cultural and educational activity dedicated to discovering Italy through the adventures of Geronimo Stilton, the famous mouse journalist created by Italian author Elisabetta Dami.<\/p>\n
The event, entitled Discovering Italy through Words, Places and Wonders with Geronimo Stilton<\/em><\/strong>, was organised on the occasion of the 26th Week of the Italian Language in the World (19\u201325 October 2026)<\/strong>, dedicated this year to the theme \u201cA Brilliant Language: Imagining, Designing and Creating in Italian<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n Through the illustrated book \u201cMille Meraviglie. Viaggio alla scoperta dell\u2019Italia\u201d<\/em>, each student was invited to explore Italy’s artistic, cultural and natural heritage. From its cities and monuments to its landscapes, traditions and local identities, the book offers an engaging journey through the country’s many regions, introducing young readers to the richness and diversity of Italian culture.<\/p>\n A copy of the book was gifted to each participant, providing an opportunity to continue discovering Italy beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n The volume is part of a special project promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI)<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Italian National Commission for UNESCO<\/strong>, with the aim of introducing Italy’s cultural and natural heritage to young readers around the world through an accessible and engaging narrative.<\/p>\n The initiative also forms part of the broader educational programme launched by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Mumbai at Don Bosco Institute of Technology, offering students a comprehensive learning experience in Italian language, culture and civic education.
