Teaching foreign languages through technology: methods, instruments, resources

Teaching foreign languages and technology: is it a happy marriage? Why use technology in the teaching of foreign languages and of Italian to foreigners? What are the pros and cons of using technology in teaching? What are the instruments that you need to master in order to be a teacher 2.0?
During the workshop, under the guidence of Alessandra Giglio, we will try to give an answer to some of these questions, analyzing the problems connected to using technology in the teaching of Italian to foreigners and suggesting activities and instruments that can become great teacher helpers and that also stimulate students’ motivation and participation.

Alessandra Giglio is Research Fellow at the University of Parma and, previously, at the Institute of Educational Technology of the National Research Council of Italy. She has been teaching Italian for Foreigners for many years. She holds a European Ph.D. in teaching language and culture using ICT and a Masters in teaching Italian as a second language. She is a Lecturer in Italian at the University of Dalarna (Sweden), a participant in some authoring-course projects at the Unversity of Genoa and at the University for Foreigners of Perugia.
