SOI Chamber Orchestra: Piotr Borkowski, Conductor, and Gian Vito Tannoia, Organ

Maestro Gian Vito Tannoia gives a concert with the SOI orchestra under the baton of Piotr Borkowski.

Gian Vito Tannoia is in many ways, the complete organist. His accolades include being the sole

Italian to reach the finals of the International Organ Competitions of Prague (1989) and Dublin

(1995), winning the top prize at the International Course on Organ Improvisation and achieving

second place in the Rodi Garganico National Competition for Ancient Organ in Foggia.

Tannoia is frequently invited to give recitals around Europe, playing on some of the most

renowned organs. His talents have been sought further, with performances in

Asia and both North and South America. Tannoia continues to publish books, compositions and

academic articles and is Professor in charge of Organ and Classical Accordion at the Music

Conservatory in Matera.
