About Artists
The Chamber Orchestra of Cameristi della Scala was founded in 1982 and is formed by musicians from the Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala. Cameristi della Scala have performed concerts in the most prestigious theatres and concert halls in the world. In 2013 they performed in the magnificent setting of Hagia Irene for Istanbul Festival, at the Auditorium National of Madrid, at the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires and will open the Festival delle Nazioni in Città di Castello. For the celebrations for the Year of Italian Culture and the Bicentenario Verdiano the orchestra play on tour in the United States. They perform in some of the most prestigious concert venues like the MIT Kresge Auditorium, the Carnegie Hall and the Library of Congress with a repertoire of unpublished music dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi.
Laura Marzadori joined the Scala Theatre Orchestra as leader violin in 2014, at just 25 years. Before taking up this position she played only as a soloist and as a chamber music violinist, never in an orchestra. However, the commission members with Daniel Barenboim as its president, unanimously elected her as the Concertmaster. In this role she has already worked with some of the greatest conductors in the world: Barenboim, Chailly, Gatti, Harding and Pappano.
