On the occasion of Fare Cinema 2021, the ‘Biopic’ project was born. In collaboration with Moviheart and RaiCom, it presents two fictional films that tell two fascinating stories about the creative and entrepreneurial capacity of our country.

Enrico Piaggio: An Italian dream, is a 2019 television film directed by Umberto Marino, about the life of Enrico Piaggio, played by Alessio Boni. It is the story of a brand, of an invention, of a man struggling with the economic crisis of the Second World War. Given the difficulties faced by his aircraft company, Piaggio understood the need to diversify production and put an innovative, nimble and, above all, affordable means of transport on the market. That idea became reality: the Vespa, the two-wheeler par excellence now known throughout the world.

Luisa Spagnoli, a 2016 two-part TV miniseries, directed by Lodovico Gasparini, about the life of the well-known Umbrian businesswoman – played by Luisa Ranieri – who founded a small chocolate factory in 1907 and then turned it into an empire. In addition to her cutting-edge approach and entrepreneurial spirit, Luisa Spagnoli distinguished herself for the care and commitment she gave to her employees. Always looking for better conditions for women in the world of work, Luisa Spagnoli was the first to provide crèches in factories.

The films will be available free of charge on the MyMovies platform for Italian Cultural Institutes worldwide.

Interested participants can access the films by creating an account on the MyMovies portal.

Access is limited to the first 500 participants.
