The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation negotiates bilateral and multilateral agreements with foreign Countries. As a result scholarships are offered to foreign citizens and Italian citizens resident abroad (IRE) by Italy and to Italian citizens by other Countries.

Italian Foreign Ministry (MAECI) offers schoarship for 2 courses in Accademia Teatro alla Scala for the academic year 2019-20

Scholarships are available to international students in 2 courses to be taught at Accademia Teatro alla Scala. Date for applications - 4th September to 11 October

Master in performing arts management
Italian Foreign Ministry offers five stipends for 6 months ( = € 900/month from January to June 2020) supporting the cost of living to international students (non-Italian).

1. Apply to the Master in Performing Arts Management on by September 4, 2019 (for extra-European Candidates) or by October 1, 2019 (for European candidates).

2. Pass the admission interview to the Master’s program and receive the admittance letter to the program by the Master Commission.

3. Apply for the MAECI scholarship no later than October 1, 2019 by sending an e-mail confirming your scholarship application to management@accademialascala with “Scholarship- MAECI” written in the subject line. The email must contain a personal statement (max 800 words) explaining why you want to study in Italy at Accademia Teatro alla Scala.

Specialization for opera singers
In order to be eligible, candidates must:
1) have been born on or after January 1, 1988 and be eighteen years old or older. Minors are not eligible to take part in the program.
2) Have earned a diploma in voice from a state musical conservatory or musical institute having equal status. When, on the other hand, the candidate has studied at a private school of music or with a private teacher, the director of the school or the private teacher must issue a statement, under their own responsibility, attesting to the student’s capabilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers study grants in favour of foreign citizens not residing in Italy for the academic year 2019-2020 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation, to promote Italian language and culture and to support Italy’s economic system in the world.

Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes, both public and legally recognised.
Successful candidates will receive 900 Euros monthly allowance on a quarterly basis, which will be paid on their Italian bank account.

INVITE - New project by University of Verona for 14 PHD students

Call for applications for scholarships under a new project INVITE by University of Verona for 14 PHD students - Last date for applications: 16th April 2018

INVITE is a doctoral programmeof the University of Verona with a strong inter-sectoral, inter-disciplinary and international dimension. The project is co-financed by the European Union within the Horizon 2020 Programme and by the Regione del Veneto. It involves as partner organisations, 17 universities and research centres in Europe and beyond, 13 enterprises and organisations from the economic sector, 3 public organisations and 1 network of technology transfer offices.

INVITE offers a total of 14 PhD positions to train early-stage researchers in scientific disciplines within the following four main scientific domains:

  • Arts and Humanities
  • Legal and Economic Sciences
  • Health and Life Sciences
  • Natural and Engineering Sciences

INVITE is open to early-stage researchers of any age and nationality and from any country. Few restrictions apply to candidates:

  • They must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Italy for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline
  • They must hold a Master’s Degree (Master of Science or Master of Arts) or similar degree equivalent to the Italian Laurea Magistrale / Specialistica that, in their country of origin, grants access to PhD programmes
  • They must not already hold a PhD and must have less than 4 years (full-time equivalent) of research experience.

Call for applications for scholarships for study grants and tution fee waivers for International students A.Y. 2018/19

University of Bologna is offering international students the study grants of Euro 11000 under Unibo Action 2 and tution fee waivers under Unibo 1. Students can apply for Unibo Actions 1&2 if:
- They wish to enroll in a Unibo degree programme for A.Y. 2018/19
- They have a non-Italian qualification or a qualification obtained in an Italian school outside Italy
- They have passed SAT or GRE test
- Their age must be under age 30
