On the occasion of the seven hundredth death anniversay of Dante Alighieri, la Direzione Generale Sistema Paese del Ministero degli Affari Esteri and della Cooperazione Internazionale has conceptualised and realised an audiobook Dalla selva oscura al Paradiso(From the Dark Forest to Paradise) which proposes in thirty-three different languages a guided tour through the three canticles of Hell, Purgatory and Paradise.
The audiobook is realised in collaboration with thirty-two Italian Cultural Institutes and is a unique tool of its kind to discover or rediscover the “Divine Comedy”, the masterpiece that continues to inspire readers, artists, writers, musicians and directors of cinema and theatre from every time and place. The project is sponsored by the National Committee for the celebrations of Dante, the Dante Society and the Dante Group ADI (Association of Italianists), the initiative was curated in partnership with the Municipality of Ravenna and thanks to the scientific contribution of two well-known Dantis, Alberto Casadei (University of Pisa) and Sebastiana Nobili (University of Bologna-Ravenna).
The thirty-three languages of the audiobook are: Italian, Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Czech, Chinese, Korean, Croatian, French, Hebrew, Finnish, Gaelic, Japanese, Greek, Indonesian, English, Lithuanian, Maltese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, German, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hungarian.
