The Italian Cultural Institute in Mumbai is pleased to support the violin and piano recital by Francesca Dego and Francesca Leonardi, part of the SOI Autumn 2026 season, presented by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and the Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI).
Violinist Francesca Dego and pianist Francesca Leonardi have performed together for 22 years. The duo made their debut on the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label with a recording of the complete violin sonatas of Beethoven, and their acclaimed partnership includes celebrated Chandos recordings featuring Paganini and Mozart.
Currently Artist in Residence at London’s legendary Wigmore Hall, violinist Francesca Dego is celebrated for her compelling interpretations and flawless technique. She has collaborated with leading musicians including Gautier Capuçon, Jan Lisiecki and Sir Roger Norrington and has received critical acclaim for her award-winning recordings while championing contemporary music through new commissions. The first Italian pianist signed to the Deutsche Grammophon label, Francesca Leonardi is celebrated for her refined interpretations as both a recitalist and concerto soloist. Her chamber music showcases her refined artistry. She began studying the piano at the age of three, graduated with highest honours from the Milan Conservatoire, and continued her training in Siena and London, where she earned a Master’s in Performance and an Artist Diploma in Piano Accompaniment with Distinction. Alongside her performing career, she is also active as a chamber music teacher at the “G. Verdi” Conservatoire in Milan.
